Speaker:
Mathew Holzwarth, Vegetation Technician with City of Longmont
  
Synopsis:
This training will focus on basic ATV safety, maintenance, and riding skills.

Learning objectives:

  • Have an understanding of basic ATV safety
  • Have an understanding of basic maintenance to ATVs
  • Learn basic ATV riding skills
  • Tips and tricks to safely ride an ATV
Speaker Biography:
Mathew s
tarted doing weed management work in 2005 when he was hired by the City of Fort Collins Natural Areas Department. He worked for them until 2020. Mathew is currently doing the same work for the City of Longmont Open Space Department. He has been using ATVs to do weed management for the past 17 years. Mathew has been through many trainings regarding ATV safety and started teaching ATV safety in 2015. In 2018, he attended the ASI (ATV Safety Institute) training to become a certified ATV trainer and has given around 20 trainings since he started. ATV safety is a passion of Mathew's. He looks for every opportunity to spread the message about ATV safety. It is one of the most dangerous parts of his job, as well as many other applicators across the State.
